Wonthaggi Human Powered Grand Prix - Race Track

Track Length: 1.4 km Track Direction: Anti-clockwise

There is a small left curve upon leaving the football ground, a short straight and then a double left-hand bend - firstly an easy turn and then a very sharp left turn onto Korumburra Road.

Korumburra Road is a long, slightly uphill, straight. If the prevailing westerly is blowing riders will have wind assistance. The pit entry is toward the end of this straight.

This is followed by a fast left turn into Wentworth Road. This straight, along the pit lane, is slightly downhill at the start but rises steeply at the end. The pit exit rejoins onto this section of track.

At the top of the hill there is another left turn into the most exciting part of the track. The first turn is an easy left turn followed by a short straight section and a very sharp left turn. Upon completing this turn riders need to begin preparing for a very sharp 180 degree right turn. This section can be completed at high speed to hit the home straight travelling fast BUT there is always the possibility of a roll-over if the rider is not in the perfect position.
